The Royal Decree (争王令) was a command issued by a fake Wimbledon III, proclaiming that the next king will be selected by merit rather than age and that men and women will be given equal opportunities to contend for the throne.[1]
In truth, it was a ploy by the Church who replaced the king with their agent to weaken the Kingdom of Graycastle. The real king was banished into the Church's prison sometime before this event occurred.
Assignment of domains[]
The various domains in the kingdom were assigned to the heirs as follows:
- First Prince, Gerald Wimbledon: Coldwind Ridge
- Second Prince, Timothy Wimbledon: Valencia
- Third Princess, Garcia Wimbledon: Port of Clearwater
- Fourth Prince, Roland Wimbledon: Border Town
- Fifth Princess, Tilly Wimbledon: Silver City
It was commented that Timothy, the second prince was favored with this arrangement, as Valencia has the most wealth compared to the other assigned domains.[2] Roland on the other hand received the worst land to govern on, as Border Town could be considered a desolate area that could be destroyed by the months of demons easily.

It could be argued that the Church wanted to split the power of the Kingdom by sending Wimbledon III's children away, in which they could take over the crown within 5 years of grace period.
